Welcome to a brand new school year!! I hope that your child came home this week excited by some of the fun things we did this week and looking forward to meeting new friends and building lasting relationships. We started using our planbooks this week. Thank you for initializing these each night. If you have any questions about the planbooks, please let me know.
We had a great week together, getting to know one another and building community. Some of our fun activities this week were red solo cup stacking-using only a tool made of rubber bands, Saving Fred--the gummy worm and hula hoop hoopla(see the video posted on this website under the photos tab). I hope your student came home and talked about all these great things we did--if not, ask them about it.
We have another busy week this week with globe making happening on Wednesday, Sept. 12th. If you'd like to volunteer and haven't signed up-please email me asap. We need parents from 8 am-12 pm.
We will also be decorating Writer's notebooks this Friday, Sept. 14th from 1:30-2:30 pm. If you would like to volunteer for this I could use 2-3 parent volunteers then.
We will be beginning our Everyday math program this week so homework will be going home.. Please refer to my homework tab for my homework policy. I have explained this to the students, but I expect students to complete homework each night. If there is something that comes up, please write me a note, send me an email to let me know.
Please mark your calendars for Thurs. Sept. 20-6:30 pm for Open House. This will be a bit different this year as your child will be joining you to lead you through some activities to show you around our classroom.
Looking forward to seeing you on 9/20. If you have any questions or concerns before then, please don't hesitate contacting [email protected] or 207-363-1800.
Have a great week!
Tracy
